Sorry! - Had family down.

Sorry that it has been a bit since we updated the blog. We had family down and they were busy helping us finish Ms. Maureens home. Nathan is cutting soffit. Joshua is hanging it with Brian.

The rest of us did trim painting with never ending touch ups, door knobs, caulking, and cleaning. We have more to do if others would like to come down. The temperture is only going to be 85 degrees today. We had a blast having family down and would love to see more of you. We already miss all that came down. Love ya'all.

Staying Busy!!

Hi everyone,

Wow it has been a busy week. Since we last posted it has been non-stop.

A week ago we saw the movie "The Ultimate Gift" by Fox Faith Films. We saw a premier showing just prior to its release. WAOY radio gave tickets to anyone who wanted one.
We highly recommend the film. It was clean and portrayed good values. It was captivating, inspiring, and fun.

On Monday, Tuesday, Fri, and Sat. we tackled a whole house siding job. Work included repairing a wall that Katrina messed up. The owner's daughter in law from California is flying in on Tue to help deal with marketing the house. The owner suffered a stroke since the storm.

The pictures show the house before and after.
The white car in the pic needs to be sold. It is a 2005 Hyundia and has 850 miles. It was purchased in AL between the storm and the lady's stroke. It was not in the storm. It may be a bargain for someone, spread the word if anyone is looking for something like it.

Wed and Thurs were spent on Adam and Pam's master bath. The room is nearly complete and the owners will finish the details themselves. We will be doing soffit and fascia on their home in about a week.

Wed night I took Charlotte to Mobile. She tried on her bridesmaids dress and we did a little mall shopping.
The Chris Tomlin concert was awesome. It was a worship night, not just listening to someone sing. The event lasted 3 hours. Matt Redman and Louie Giglio were part of the event. Louie shared about the vastness of the universe and the compexity of this life we live in. As the Bible teaches from cover to cover, The Glory of God is plain to see. We are even bigger Chris Tomlin fans now. Pick up one of his CDs. Walmart even has them.

Last night I took Charlotte out to celebrate her birthday. Bet you would not be suprised we went to a Mexican restaurant.

We will be working on Maureen's house this week. Charlotte's family is traveling here to help with this effort. We will be doing a thorough whole house finishing including soffit, yard work, painting details, and cleaning. I will update you on this next time.

Gotta go. We are teaching the Truth project today and will be going to Gautier to see the film Amazing Grace.

Update and fun from Biloxi beach

Howdy Ya'll

It has been a bit since we had a chance to write. It has been a really busy week. After we finished Ron's house on Tue, we spent Wed. morning working on a laminate floor in a room in Maureen's house, then Wed. afternoon doing a ceramic floor in her laundry room. Thurs. morning was spent doing grout and cleanup in Maureen's house. She is so blessed and it has been a blessing to us being able to serve her.

I spent Thursday afternoon doing a "honey do" list of repairs for a couple named Don and Joette. They were referred to me by Monica, the lady we did a whole house job for last year. They are work friends.

On Friday, Nicholas and I started a whole bathroom replacement for a couple in Gautier that we know from CLCA. They lost everything in the storm but have worked hard on restoring their home mostly themselves. We had to tear out the old bathroom that was installed with a quality concrete with wire mesh backer and tile. The old tub was a heavy cast iron. We had the room gutted in 3 hours and by the end of the day we had the tub installed, all plumbing and electric alterations complete. On Sat. Joshua and I Installed cement board in the entire room. Then we installed the cabinets. By the end of the day we had tile installed on 40% of the room. We are tiling all of the wall surfaces. We will finish the tile on Wed morning.

On Wed. afternoon, Charlotte and I will go to Mobile, Al to try on her bridesmaids dress for Amanda's wedding. We will spend the evening at the Chris Tomlin Concert. Friends from CLCA will help with the kids.

We had a lady named Lori contact us this week regarding siding her mother in law's home. Her mother in law has had a stroke since the storm and has moved to California to be with her son and daughter in law. It has been fun getting to know her through many phone calls. We will start siding the house tommorrow and should finish this week prior to Lori's arrival from CA on the 20th. The house lost it's siding in the storm due to being nailed with nails too short. They simply pulled out.
Lori has read this blog site and checked out our references. Thanks to all of you for your kind words to Lori. We are going to give her a great experience and hope she can complete the things that need to be done to market the home.

We are looking forward to a visit and volunteer help from a number of Charlotte's family and Amanda's fiance' next week. Also, Charlotte's dad was admitted to St. Joseph's hospital this week. He had chest pain. He received 3 stints and was released after 3 nights. We will keep ya'll posted.

We know that you had a balmy warm weekend. Praise God for that. Our friend Susan informed us that March in Mississippi is delicious. It is pretty much one beautiful day after another.
We spent a couple hours at the beach right in front of our house this afternoon. Rosa and Ethan played in the sand and Nicholas and Andrew flew a kite. Ethan ran full speed. What a blessing after his club foot. Thank you Jesus for his complete restoration.

We miss you and look forward to see you.

Pictures of the family!

Here are a few mug shots of the family. Samuel and Joshua hanging drywall. Ethan trying to set up the computers and Rosa with her new doll. Joshua showed her how to feed the baby.

These pictures are of Nicholas and Andrew at the God's Katrina Kitchen.
We will update you with more soon. Love you all.

Finished Projects

We are finished at Ron's. These are pictures of his front living room. This flooring is a tile that looks like a parquet wood floor. It is through the whole house and looks wonderful.
And these are pictures of his second bathroom.

These pictures are of Ed's carport that the two older boys and Brian put up in three days. It is 22 x 36, the size of a three car garage.

God's Katrina Kitchen

Today, Charlotte and the boys served at God's Katrina Kitchen. It is a totally non-denominational effort to serve people. They are serving 1000 hot meals a day.

I was blessed to enjoy their meal tonight. They served catfish very well prepared. They are all in bed preparing to be ready to serve breakfast at 5:30 A.M. The alarms are set for 4:00 A.M.

The effort is hurting for volunteers this week as spring break is coming soon. The kitchen is clearly a blessing to many.

We enjoyed a full moon shimmering light on gentle Gulf waves driving home. It is so beautiful.

Keep shoveling those snow drifts. Hopefully the worst is over.

presidential motorcade

HowdyYa'll

Wow, while I was getting ready to post this page, an electric transformer across the street blew. It sounded like a huge cannon. We saw a large flash like lightning. All of the electric is out on the other side of the street. It gives me more respect for those high voltage lines.

We had thunderstorms here today. I suppose lightning caused some damage.
You seem to be really hammered this week with your snow. It is time to rev up those snowmobiles.....No I have no regrets for evacuating to the warm climate.

You may have seen reports on the media of President Bush visiting the Gulf Coast. I had to travel to my job today on side roads as they had Hwy 90 closed for his motorcade. Charlotte was actually trapped in our subdivision as Hwy 90 is our only way out. Charlotte and the kids saw them pass. He was actually only 2 blocks from our camper.

We are very close to finishing Ron's house. It is looking really awesome. They have done some really cool upgrades and will be retaining me to complete some extras.

We will pass on pics soon. Our camera was stolen last weekend due to careless handling of it.
It was unsupervised and someone couldn't bear the temptation. We are praying for the culprit that every time they use it that God would convict them and he could move in to their heart.
We already have obtained a new one.

Tomorrow the kids will be doing the homeschool co-op again. It is every Fri.
Tomorrow afternoon and evening Charlotte and 2 of the boys will be serving at God's Katrina Kitchen. It is set up in a large tent in Gulfport and they are still serving 1000 hot meals a day to victims and volunteers. Ethan and I plan on having supper there after work. Ethan and I will be doing ceramic tile in Ron's front porch. It is also on concrete.

Hopefully you will get dug out of your drifts and be able to function normally real soon.
We are fixin' to go to bed
Bye for now.

Keep in touch ya'll, ya hear?
