Hi everyone,
Things are really busy for us here.
After finishing Steve and Rebecca's siding job on Monday, we started working for Ed and Marcella. They are past customers. If you were reading our blog last year, you will recall that we replaced their carport after the storm. Shortly thereafter, a drunk driver crashed into their home at 2:00 in the morning, damaging their entry addition.
After this they decided to go ahead with adding a significant addition to their home. They have worked with several contractors along the way, and have had a bit of trouble. We spent the week doing hardwood floors, porcelain tile, doors and trim. Ed will be out of town this week, but plans to have us complete the work on the house when he returns. He has released the other contractors involved.
The boys have grown tremendously in their skills on this trip this year. Nicholas and Joshua installed the hardwood floor with minimal involvement from Brian. Andrew (age 9) did almost all of the cutting of the porcelain tile and much of the hardwood floor. Samuel also helped with the hardwood floor cutting. Our customers were amazed at the skill of the boys. We were able to save them a lot of money, we calculated the cost per square foot and we were one third of normal prices here.
On Sunday, we spent the afternoon with a family from CLCA who does the hobby geo caching. For those of you who do not know what this is, you use your GPS device to find a little hidden treasure. It was a lot of fun and it gave us a chance to enjoy a nice afternoon.
Tomorrow we will start doing crown molding in a nearly new house for Lonnie and Lisa.
We would like to ask everyone to join us in keeping Brian's mom, Carina in your prayers. She has been through a lot in recent times battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma, and now she has a case of pnuemonia. We continue to lift her up in prayer and trust for her improvement, may the glory be to God.
We will enjoy nice weather this week. It is a nice time of year here. We did have some nasty weather here a few days ago. We were woke up in the middle of the night by violent winds and hard driving rain. Weather. com reported 25 mph winds, but there were reports of 70 mph winds here. Edgewater mall received damage to their gates and windows were shattered. A car dealership in D'Iberville was severely damaged. About 25 houses received severe damage. It is believed that there was a tornado, but nothing official was confirmed. We were suprised by the winds as no warnings were posted. We prayed for safety for us and the boys. We are thankful that everyone was spared harm.
Please keep in touch, we enjoy hearing from each of you.
