Habitat for Humanity

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update, it is Monday morning. We are coming to an end of several glorious days. It has been sunny and in the lows 70's.

Brian and the boys will finish Steve and Rebeccah's siding job today. They have added jobs along the way including a new patio door and entry and storm door.

Brian got a bit sunburned on Saturday working on their project.

The highlight of the week was a Habitat for Humanity project that we were involved in. A lady in the church here named Charlotte was qualified to receive a Habitat house, but she is nearly wheelchair bound an unable to do construction. The program allows for volunteers to fill your service hours, and that is where we came in.

On Friday, Brian, Nicholas, Pastor Pete and a lady named Linda joined up with several other local volunteers and partnered with a college group from the Pittsburgh area. Volunteers needed to be at least 16 years old.
When we arrived, the home had a floor and 2 exterior walls. When we left, the exterior and interior walls were built and the exterior walls were nearly sheeted. Another group worked on the house on Saturday and Charlotte's hours are now complete. She will now be able to progress on receiving her Habitat house.

On Friday night we decided to bless the kids and went out to a pizza/salad buffet called CiCi's, then went to the kid's favorite place, Chuck-E Cheese. It is a big arcade type place, with lots of fun for the kids.

On Sunday, we could not resist the nice weather and decided to eat by the beach after church.

An I Hop restaurant just opened recently, and we wanted to go there. There were long lines and no parking available, so we went to the new Wendys instead.  Anyone want to make some money? .... Open a restaurant here on the beach.

We have been a bit lazy with the camera lately, but we will step it up for you.

We are in storm warnings for tonight, as is the whole mid section of the nation. It is 65 this morning, but this is a cold front coming through.

We miss you all back home.

In Christ
